On behalf of the Illinois IP Alliance Board (ILIPA), please join us in a lively discussion with European Patent Attorneys, Frank Van Coppenolle and Francois Gevers surrounding the Unitary Patent System and Unified Patent Court (UPC).
On February 17th, 2023, the “gatekeeper” Germany deposited its instrument of ratification of the UPC agreement. This was the last step that officially triggered the entry into force of the Unified Patent Court on June 1st, 2023. As of now, we are currently in the sunrise period for opting out existing patents from the new system which started March 1st, 2023.
